Just got Albert and Barranco’s fab book, Market Fresh Mixology. This recipe looks amazing, just waiting for a friend to share it with… Let me know if you get to try it before I do!
Watermelon Margarita
- 4 watermelon cubes (1 inch) seeds removed
- Juice of 1/2 a pressed lime
- 1 1/2 ounces fresh sour
- 1 1/2 ounces silver tequila
- 1/2 ounce triple sec
- Watermelon wedge for garnish
Rim Ingredients
- 4 bar spoons super fine sugar
- 1 bar spoon sea salt
- 1 bar spoon pink peppercorns (crushed)
- Lime wedge
To Rim the Glass:
On a small plate, measure sugar, sea salt, and crushed pink peppercorns. Stir gently. Rim the outside top of the glass with a lime wedge. Roll the outside lip of the glass in the sugar mixture. Set aside.
In mixing glass, muddle the watermelon cubes and lime juice. Add fresh sour, tequila, triple sec. Add ice to tin. Shake all ingredients well. Strain into rimmed cocktail glass. Garnish with watermelon wedge.
