Gummy Eyeballs and Inexpensive Spooky Shot Glasses: Last Minute Halloween Entertaining Tips

If you are serving some spooky drinks, the Gummy Eyeballs from Cost Plus World Market are FANTASTIC.  I am freezing some right now to serve in my Midori Martinis tomorrow night.  I’m also putting them at the bottom of shot glasses and freezing them, too.  $7.99 for 100.  Great for midori shots.

CHEAP, FESTIVE SHOT GLASS ALERT!!!  I saw many charming halloween shot glasses–but they all were pricey. Yesterday at Safeway, I found spider web clear shot glasses in packs of 4 for $3.38!  They are cool, spooky and look especially creepy with the gummy eyeballs.

Happy Halloween shopping!

Tommy’s Ultimate Margarita Mix: It May Just Be Better Than Trader Joe’s Margarita Mix

On a lazy summer evening, relaxing with the best company of friends, we mixed margaritas with Tommy’s Ultimate Margarita Mix.

We poured Sauza Hornitos tequila (this is recommended many times over by many different sources as the best and most cost sensible tequila), Tommy’s and a splash of fresh squeezed orange juice in the margarator and viola!  Perfect, delicious margaritas that beat Trader  Joe’s mix by a majority vote.

*If you click the link, you can get the Tommy’s info and where to buy it.  We found it at our local Mollie Stones grocery store.

Happy sipping!

Castle Rock 2006 Medocino County Pinot Noir, the Go To Wine: Best Pinot Noir California State Fair, 95 Points

Hi Wine Lovers who like bargains,

This e-mail came to me today from Cost Plus.  Check out the sale, if you want in on the deal.  Otherwise, tuck Castle Rock Pinot Noir 2006 Mendocino County into your mental notes.  This wine was introduced to me ages ago by my good friend, Pam.  She calls it her “go to wine.”

It is a delicious, big pinot noir without the big price.  Give it a try, and if you get it on sale, then it’s all the better.  It’s a great wine if you are having a party and buying wine by the case.  I’ve bought it at Safeway and Bevmo, too.

Read below for more info, and you can also see that it won the Gold Medal at the California State Fair.

This is no small feat. Over 3,000 California wines and 600 wineries
were in the running, and this gem from Mendocino took the coveted
top prize for Pinot.

Join in the fun! For three days, we’re offering this luscious, juicy,
berry-filled Pinot Noir at a simply astounding price. Stock up – this
